New appointments at B2B publisher Contineo Media

Singapore – Contineo Media Pte Ltd, publisher of B2B publications Asia Image, Television Asia Plus, and Travel Weekly Asia, has appointed James Puah as Publisher of both the Television & Entertainment Group and Travel & Meetings Group; as well as Josephine Tay as Editor of Asia Image.

With over 16 years of experience in regional advertising, event management, and sponsorship sales in business-to-business magazines and tradeshows, newly appointed publisher James Puah will oversee all sales, editorial, event sponsorship and international media representation for Television Asia PlusAsia ImageAsian Television Awardsand Travel Weekly Asia.

Puah spent seven years in Dow Jones AER Company as the General Manager for The Wall Street Journal, Asia, and was responsible for the circulation business in Southeast Asia. Prior to that, he was the Partnership Development & Sales Manager for Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay, securing sponsorships for arts programmes; and before that the Project Manager for Corporate Travel World and Incentives, Travel, Conventions and Meetings, Asia (ITCMA).

Puah assumed the position from outgoing publisher Amantha Chia from December 20, 2013. He reports to CEO Raymond Wong in the Singapore office, where he will lead the sales team across its print and online properties to drive sponsorship sales to the company’s key events.

Also joining Contineo Media is Josephine Tay, who is appointed Editor of Asia Image, under the Television & Entertainment Group. Tay assumes the position from editor Melody Uy and will be based in Singapore.

Tay brings with her a wealth of both technical and creative experience with more than 10 years in broadcast. She started out in producing but later moved on to video editing, where she established herself as a freelancer so as to move across a broad spectrum of programme formats. Apart from video editing, Tay also excels in writing, producing and directing. Her portfolio now includes an impressive array of formats including sports magazine and highlight shows, documentaries, docu-dramas, infotainment and reality series, as well as short films, commercials, promos and corporate videos.

Prior to her entry to the broadcast scene, Tay was a freelance copywriter and a content writer for entertainment and educational publications. Her appointment as Editor thus represents a combination of her skill sets in both broadcast and publishing.
